Stanley Update

Stanely laid eggs. It is reproducing. Oh yay! In case you missed it, this is Stanley, she lives in my living room. I can't tell you how excited I am by this blessed development. More Stanleys. I can't wait.

This morning when I drank my coffee and read a few blogs I got a message. The first two blogs I read both had the same message: Let go of the anger and welcome blessings into your life. What a great message to receive first thing in the morning. I am trying to figure out how this is a blessing but I am coming up a bit short. Any ideas? Anyone?

Congrats to the lucky mommy to be! (And, wow! Your life is never boring.) I loved the posts you linked to.

As far as the blessing in mommy Stanley's impending arrivals? Well at least there are 2 females in the house for once :)

Well 'tis the season of giving ... so I say, for the holidays, you should "gift" some baby Stanley's to your staff and your friends at the Embassy.

There's no better way to say, "thanks for being my friend" than to receive an 8 legged scary as hell beastess...

Or send them to your family in the States. Did you know that tarantula smuggling is a HUGE business? Seriously ... there was a big article on CNN last week!

Holy cow what is Stanley?? He looks like a camel spider or is he just a regular spider? I can just imagine how much my little biologist (age 11) would want one of these around our house.

I agree with Becky. The only blessing I see in the situation is that Stanly being a girl makes two females in the household. On the other hand Stanley multiplying would not be a blessed event in my household.

I would perhraps consider letting the babies go out in the wild when they are old enough to be on their own. Hope your boys are amenable to that.

Stanley is really awesome. Mostly because Stanley lives in YOUR living room and not MINE. :)

Maybe Stanley's brood is a blessing because they will eat other pests that would make your life miserable.

Please tell me that Stanley is not venomous. *shudder*

(Thank you for the link love, my friend.)

Becca- Yeah she kinda does.

Becky and Daniella- 'm not sure a camel spider counts as another girl even it is laying eggs.

Daniella - The babies will totally be going into the wild. I don't care if the boys like it or not. There is only so much that even I will put up with.

Lotus- Just wait your turn is coming. Before you know it Braden will be hauling all sorts of creepy crawlies into you house. Be prepared by a cage with a padlock and don't share the combination. That is the only reason Stanley hasn't been stomped, she can't escape!

I haven't responded back from your comment yet but hadn't forgotten either. I was relieved to hear you didn't let the kids keep the baboon spider and was feeling rather normal until I realized you have one living in your living room! I am SO glad this spider is in your living room and not mine! :) The last spider I saw got smashed between the sliding glass door and the wall. Shhh - don't tell the kids :)

Um, well, it certainly is a talking point! Okay, not sure what else to say but if your kids are really thrilled, then that's a blessing?

I'm so happy to hear that Stanley's children will be going into the wild. Not because I'm against having animals, but because one spider is one too many!

Well, DUH! The blessing is obviously that Stanley lives with YOU and not with ME. I'm feeling very blessed by that fact.

(p.s. don't tell your kids but I just smooshed one of Stanley's distant relatives yesterday in my bathroom...)
