In His World!

Friday afternoon I was at the boys swim lessons. In an effort to make Alonzo pay attention to his own swimming Coach Frankie had separated the boys. It didn't work even with a lane and a swimmer in between Alonzo continued to watch Colin instead of paying attention to his own strokes. In a burst of speed Alonzo finished a lap well ahead of Colin. He popped up out the water and announced, "I'm winning!"

"It's not a race." I reminded him for at least the 100th time.

Alonzo grinned back at me and replied, "In my world it is! It's a race and I'm winning!"

Guess it's all in how you look at it.

Alonzo! I must say that YOU are destined for greatness! The most profound thinkers live (or lived) in their own world. I can't wait for you to get here! MEOW

I love it! Perfect words to come out of a child's mouth. Though I have those "in my world" thoughts too ... but they aren't nearly as cute and funny as Alonzo's!

Kids can be both competitive and imaginative. This one is both!
