Oh yeah, that's a good question! I've never seen apples like those before... Another thought that came to my mind was: hm, is that eatable? What stuff did they put on that it looks like that?But it is a great picture anyway, and I think it is really unique!I am happy I could make you happy btw :-))I think they offer some american food at "real" (see this link), too. It isn't a sticker or photoshop. The design is actually part of the apple skin. I think (like Gandalf and Grayson) that it must have been stickers during the last few weeks of growth causing blanching of the skin underneath or maybe a bleaching agent. I washed them and ate them. They tasted like apples. Kids were impressed though.
