They are, by far, my favorite bird here. I have been trying for ages to get a decent picture but even though they are huge birds about the size of a parrot and are blue, turquoise, and green with red wings and bright orange eyes they are ridiculously hard to spot. We hear them all the time but see them only occasionally. Colin spotted these. They were down low because the pied crows were pestering them.
My second favorite, the woodland kingfisher is even harder to capture with the camera. I have been hearing them for several weeks now but have only seen brief flashes of turquoise high in the trees.

Beautiful! Honor says it's looks like a small flying peacock, with a horn on its head, she says it's a 'uni-peacock'!
