Actually these beetles are very much real. My kids and I caught them while we were staying in the mountains of Puncak Indonesia. I can tell you from personal experience their little feet are like hooks. It took me about 5 minutes to detach one from the back of my hand and I bleed from each spot where he was attached. The beetles we found varied in size from that of a small lime to the size of lemon.
