I agree with Nomads above; I think in a state of perfect ripeness the taste is worth the smell.Sadiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04348502564760792668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896182951003656236.post-60581026890543134982010-12-04T00:32:26.790+04:002010-12-04T00:32:26.790+04:00Thanks for the submission! I haven't been tempted as most people I've heard talk about it share reports like yours! My dad was also a Burpee catalog adventurer. I liked trying all the new veggies. He also experimented with interesting flowers and other plants, including cotton.Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03667481504650498976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896182951003656236.post-77824995879878757582010-12-03T11:23:51.816+04:002010-12-03T11:23:51.816+04:00Love the photos! Must have been just the right amount of ripeness, not enough to scar me from the mere memory, but not leaving a desire to locate it ever again! Your reactions are priceless! And I agree, the mouse-kababs are a passer. Haven't found them since. . . googled a lot. . . they were delicious and a great part of my growing up years.

I'm a bit squeamish about weird meats, though. Used to be vegetarian. Not anymore, but still. . . skinless, boneless chicken breasts are easiest for me to deal with.TulipGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10491713586488210547noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896182951003656236.post-31114101468758926892010-12-03T08:55:03.616+04:002010-12-03T08:55:03.616+04:00Classic looks...love it!Classic looks...love it!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14545024934754374573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896182951003656236.post-63685709355715007782010-12-03T06:09:31.886+04:002010-12-03T06:09:31.886+04:00OMG those pics are priceless. hilarious. that NP...OMG those pics are priceless. hilarious. that NPR show about durian was absolutely hilarious as well. so happy i knew about it beforehand from you. ;o)Monicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00015313115711205106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896182951003656236.post-12115010183429959002010-12-03T03:12:45.155+04:002010-12-03T03:12:45.155+04:00LOL, it was your go at the durian that gave me the...LOL, it was your go at the durian that gave me the courage to try it, and I agree, never again.

I ate sea cucumber at the Ritz by mistake.....OMG its not a vegetable similar to Bok Choy, it's a slug and its (I just gagged again from the memory) the most vile and disgusting thing I have ever eaten!Jenny Quldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10556485665286961132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896182951003656236.post-82280935941928615042010-12-03T00:34:25.834+04:002010-12-03T00:34:25.834+04:00You can buy durian in the US. I actually thought it tasted very good but it stunk absolutely horrible. The problem is you can't separate the smell from the taste. I tried but it didn't work. Needless to say, I had a very hard time finishing my durian bubble tea. I don't think I'll be eating it again but it's I guess an educational opportunity to try it once.Daniela Swiderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15375056786777183752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8896182951003656236.post-56378024396751261532010-12-02T23:52:47.227+04:002010-12-02T23:52:47.227+04:00LOL! The Buddhist monks and nuns in Taiwan always had carts full of it when I'd see them at the grocery store.
