Would that be the same one earlier attached to his ear or is this a new friend? And what will you do if your next post is bug/critter free?

The earring were on a different kid, different lizards, on a different continent. The earring were plain old green anoles in Texas. This lizard is a skink found in the garden here in Malawi. I had to actually pull it off Gray's finger because it wouldn't let go. Good thing he didn't try making an earring out of this one.

jesus (sorry, jesus, but it's just true) - your kids are wildlife freaks and your home is a haven for wildlife. i am loving this because there is no need for wildlife here - i can just pull up your blog and show the kids. ;o)

Do you not remember all the things they found living in your back yard this summer, or are you just blocking things out?

As to a haven for wildlife I'm not sure about that. This little guy was heading for the snake tank to become snake dinner but after being tortured by my kids I felt like release was the only humane thing to do.

We've had anoles and avoided skinks because we had heard they were 'mean and bitey'. Now reading thru your comments and the anole earrings, I can honestly say - I had no idea! This pic is really funny though!
