Piano Recital

Alonzo and Colin have been taking piano lessons once a week since mid January. They have only had 4 months of piano instruction. Sunday they had their first piano recital. I think they did well. Colin was the very first student to perform. He panicked a bit and played both pieces without stopping in between, but otherwise did fine.

The recital was held at a private house. It was a very large house and still it was quite crowded. The boys performed on a baby grand to a packed house. I would have been intimidated too. I am so proud of them both, I could just bust!

This is Colin playing "Row Row Row Your Boat" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"

This is Alonzo playing "The Banjo Picker" and "The Princess Waltz"

How sweet! I still remember my one and only recital!

Btw, your comment about my redneck hubby had ME ROLLING! Thanks for the laugh. It's true-finally someone who understands!

I'm so proud of you both, Colin and Alonzo! I can not wait to hear you play in person! Delmus has a nice piano yo both can practice on while you are here!

Well if you decide on piano I love our Yamaha ypd-151 electric piano, it was developed as a teaching instrument. The Piano teacher was pleased with the quality as well. The keys are touch responsive just like a real piano. It weighs less than a 100 pounds (which is nice when you have to deal with weight limits for shipping HHE) never needs tuning and actually looks like a piano instead of an electric keyboard.
